Viva Capital Funding Review (2026)

El Paso, Texas

4.9(152 reviews)

Overview

Viva Capital Funding is an El Paso factor founded in 1999 and run by a group of partners. It began with a single trucking client and still leans toward transportation, adding fuel cards and fuel advances, but it also funds oilfield services, manufacturing, staffing, healthcare and construction subcontractors. Its site advertises rates from 0.25%, advances up to 100% and credit lines to $15 million, and it offers both recourse and non-recourse freight programs. It requires a personal guarantee and says nothing about contract length or fee schedules in its FAQ, so get those in writing.

Overview

Viva Capital Funding, LLC is an independent factoring company headquartered at 4900 North Mesa Street in El Paso, Texas. Its about page says it was founded in 1999 to fund a single transportation client, and the BBB lists a business start date of May 1, 1999. It is run by a group of partners: its reference page names a president, a director of business development, a director of operations and a director of finance, all described as partners in the firm.

Trucking remains central to the business. The site has a full transportation section, a fuel card and fuel advance program, and recourse and non-recourse freight options. But Viva has broadened well beyond freight. It lists healthcare, oilfield services, manufacturing, staffing, service providers and construction, and offers a "Quick Pay" program in which general contractors pay subcontractors early through Viva. Beyond factoring it advertises reverse factoring, asset-based lending, equipment financing, short-term financing and venture debt. The site is bilingual, reflecting its border-city base.

Viva also has more visible outside funding than most firms its size. A September 2025 press release announced that its investment-grade corporate notes had been increased to $30.5 million, with Brean Capital as placement agent. Access to institutional debt like that is a reasonable sign of a stable funding base, though it says nothing about how Viva treats individual clients.

One caution on the numbers. Viva's homepage says it has funded over $1 billion in the transportation industry alone, while its about page says over $2 billion in transportation alone, and its 2025 press release says it has provided over $2 billion to growing companies since 2018. These claims cannot all describe the same thing. We do not rely on any of them.

Rates, advances and fees

The headline figures on the homepage are rates "as low as 0.25%," advances of up to 100% minus the fee, approvals in as little as 8 hours and credit lines of up to $15 million. The invoice factoring page repeats the 0.25% starting rate and the $15 million line, but puts the maximum advance at 98% and funding at 24 to 48 hours. The transportation page says Viva advances 90% to 100% of the face value of freight invoices.

The 0.25% floor is among the lowest advertised rates we have recorded from any factor. Treat it with care. The same factoring page, in a section on the cost of waiting for payment, refers to factoring companies that "may charge 2–3% of the amount of the invoice." Viva's FAQ answers the questions "What does factoring cost?" and "What amount or percentage of invoice will you advance?" with the same sentence: it depends on industry, volume, payment terms and your customers, so call for a quote. In practice, a quarter-point rate is likely to apply only to large, low-risk accounts with very fast-paying customers.

The homepage includes a funding fee estimator where you enter invoice totals and payment terms, with a note that the results are only estimates. That is a useful sanity check, but it is not a published fee schedule.

Contract terms

Viva's FAQ is short and leaves several important questions unanswered. Here is what it does say:

  • Minimums. Asked whether there is a minimum or maximum volume, the FAQ answers no and says solutions are tailored. The transportation page also lists "no minimum volume requirements."
  • Recourse. The general FAQ says that if a customer does not pay, the client must buy the invoice back, swap it for another, or have the amount taken from reserves. That is recourse factoring. For freight, the transportation page lists both recourse and non-recourse programs, but does not say what non-recourse covers or what it costs.
  • Personal guarantee. The FAQ says a guarantee is required to confirm you will perform under the agreement. This is common in the industry, but it means the owner carries personal exposure if the business breaches the contract, such as by misdirecting customer payments.
  • Which customers. Only the customers you choose to factor are contacted, and each must pass a credit check.
  • Notification. The FAQ gently pushes back on clients who want to keep factoring hidden from their customers, and the factoring page says notification and non-notification options exist. Expect notification as the default.

Contract length and exit terms are the main gap. The fuel card page says Viva clients get "no long-term contracts," but the FAQ and factoring pages do not state a term, notice period or termination fee. Get those in writing and see our guide on how to read a factoring contract.

Funding speed and service

Viva says its goal is to approve files within 24 hours, and its homepage claims approvals in as little as 8 hours. Same-day funding is available, according to the homepage and transportation page, while the general factoring page gives a more cautious 24 to 48 hours. Clients get 24/7 online access to their reports, and Viva handles collections on purchased invoices.

The fuel program is a real strength for carriers. Once you are factoring with Viva, you can enroll in the fuel card at no added cost, get up to 50% of a factored load's value as an advance as soon as it has been picked up, and save at the pump. Viva quotes an average discount of 49 cents a gallon with no transaction fees and says card transfers usually post within minutes. Any load you factor with Viva can qualify for an advance.

BBB rates Viva A+ but the business is not BBB accredited. The profile showed no complaints in the past three years when we checked.

Who it's for

Viva Capital Funding is a strong candidate for:

  • Small and mid-sized carriers who want factoring, fuel advances and fuel discounts from one provider, with a choice of recourse or non-recourse. See freight and trucking factoring.
  • Oilfield service and manufacturing firms in Texas and New Mexico that value a regional, bilingual team. See oil and gas factoring.
  • Construction subcontractors whose general contractor uses Viva's Quick Pay program. See construction factoring.
  • Larger businesses that may need a line approaching the $15 million ceiling.

It is a weaker fit for an owner who will not sign a personal guarantee, or for anyone who wants clear fee and contract terms in hand before talking to sales.

Pros and cons

  • Both recourse and non-recourse freight programs
  • No minimum volume
  • Credit lines up to $15 million
  • Bilingual team and an A+ BBB rating with no complaints in three years

Cons

  • FAQ gives no pricing or advance guidance at all
  • The 0.25% floor is unlikely to be typical; its own site mentions 2% to 3%
  • Personal guarantee required
  • General factoring is recourse, with buybacks from reserves
  • Contract length and termination terms are not published
  • Inconsistent funding-volume claims across its own pages
  • Not BBB accredited

How it compares

Viva and 1st Commercial Credit both pair trucking factoring with fuel advances of up to 50%; 1st Commercial Credit publishes a trucking rate range of 1.5% to 3% and charges an extra 1% for the fuel advance, while Viva publishes only its floor. Charter Capital quotes a higher starting fee but is far more open about setup fees, ACH charges and notice termination. For fuel-focused carriers, also compare Viva with Bay View Funding, which runs a fuel advance program through a bank-owned factor. Our compare page lets you line them up.
