Overview

eCapital Freight Factoring Corp. is the transportation factoring arm of eCapital, a finance group that says its roots go back to 2006 and that has grown largely through acquisitions. Its history page says freight factoring became a business line when it bought Accutrac Capital Solutions, and that the addition of eCapital in 2019 moved its freight division into the top tier. An eCapital news release describes Accutrac's parent, Global Merchant Fund Corp. (now eCapital Corp.), acquiring eCapital LLC, a Las Vegas-based transportation factor whose name the group then took. Later freight deals on its history page include InstaPay Freight Factoring, acquired in November 2021. The wider group also lends to staffing, healthcare and consumer goods businesses, and its homepage says it funds facilities from $5 million to $250 million.

eCapital describes itself as North America's largest freight factoring company and says it has funded more than 30,000 businesses. It serves carriers from owner-operators to multi-truck fleets, as well as freight brokers.

Its BBB profile lists eCapital Freight Factoring Corp. at an address in Aventura, Florida, with a start date of 12 February 2013, and shows it as BBB accredited since 25 November 2020.

TAFS customers

When we checked on 3 November 2026, tafs.com returned a permanent redirect to ecapital.com. We could not find a press release from either company announcing an acquisition, and eCapital's history page does not mention TAFS, so we cannot confirm the date or terms of any deal. See our TAFS review if you were a TAFS customer.

eCapital scored 71.0 out of 100 in our freight factoring ratings, fourth of the seven companies our editors rated in January 2026. See the full ratings and how we score.

Rates, advances and fees

eCapital does not publish a factoring rate. Its freight factoring page says costs depend on the services you use and the volume of invoices it collects for you, and invites you to ask for a free quote.

On advances, the same page gives two figures. In one place it says eCapital provides up to 100% of the invoice value, against an industry norm it puts at around 80% to 90%. Elsewhere it says you receive up to 98% of the invoice within 24 hours. Treat the top of that range as a ceiling rather than a typical offer, and ask whether a higher advance carries a higher fee.

Its comparison table sets out what each programme includes:

  • All freight factoring clients. Recourse or non-recourse options, dedicated account managers and back-office support, unlimited free credit checks and 24/7 online access to cash.
  • Fleets. Bulk factoring and non-notification factoring, in which your customers are not told you factor, for high-volume businesses.
  • Factoring and fuel bundle. Additional factoring rate discounts, fuel discounts at 16,000 locations and $5,000 of pre-approved credit on the fuel card.

The fuel programme is also available on its own, with $2,500 of pre-approved credit. The bundle is eCapital's main lever on price: if you buy enough fuel, the rate discount can matter more than the headline factoring fee. Ask for quotes with and without the bundle.

At the January 2026 review our editors recorded:

  • A quote within about five minutes
  • A set-up fee of about $100 if you sign up
  • An additional fee for instant transfers through its InstaPay feature
  • High advance rates and a variety of contract options
  • No monthly minimum volume

The instant-transfer fee is the one to price carefully. If you plan to use fast payouts regularly, add that fee to the factoring rate before you compare quotes. Our guide to hidden factoring fees covers the other charges to ask about.

Contract terms

eCapital's freight factoring page says clients are not required to sign long-term contracts. That does not match what our editors recorded in January 2026: a standard 12-month contract, with no termination fee if you give 60 days' notice and an early termination fee of about $100 to $150 otherwise. That put eCapital at the longer end of the group on both term and notice period, which is why it scored 6.8 of 15 on contract flexibility.

Both can be true: eCapital may offer several contract options, with 12 months as the default. Ask which term you are being offered, and get the notice period and any early termination fee written into the quote. Our guide to reading a factoring contract lists the clauses to find, including automatic renewal.

Other terms our editors recorded:

  • Application. A soft credit pull, but no minimum time in business.
  • Brokers. No approved-broker list to stay within, though each broker must pass a credit check.
  • UCC filing. Collateral-specific rather than a blanket lien.

eCapital's page explains recourse and non-recourse in general terms, noting that recourse periods are usually 60 to 90 days and that there is no universal definition of what non-recourse covers. Its page does not set out its own non-recourse exclusions, so ask for that clause before relying on the cover. Our recourse versus non-recourse guide explains the usual exclusions.

Funding speed and service

Speed is eCapital's strongest suit. Its freight factoring page says you can be paid in as little as one hour and move money instantly 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. For new clients, it says it aims to speak to you within 24 hours of contact and can make a decision within a couple of days once it has your paperwork.

Its mobile app and online portal let you upload invoices, track payments and run credit checks, and fleet owners can give drivers their own logins to upload paperwork from the road. Our editors recorded the CONNECT portal and app as easy to use, and noted access to a free load board at the time of review.

What drivers say

eCapital's public reviews were good. Reviewers compiled by our editors praised an efficient funding process, easy-to-use technology, a broad range of services and responsive support.

Its complaint record pulled the score down. At the January 2026 review it held a B+ BBB grade and had more complaints than most of the list. The BBB profile we checked in November 2026 shows an improved grade of A, with 30 complaints filed in the last three years. Complaint themes our editors found were:

  • Unexpected fees
  • Difficulty cancelling contracts
  • Poor communication about changes to rates or terms
  • Delays in paying out reserves

That pattern mostly concerns exit terms and fee changes. Before you sign, ask for the full fee schedule, how rate changes are communicated, and how quickly reserves are released after a broker pays.

Who it's for

eCapital suits carriers who want fast, tech-driven funding and the freedom to haul for any creditworthy broker, and who are comfortable with a 12-month commitment if that is what they are offered. Fuel-heavy fleets should price the factoring-and-fuel bundle, and larger fleets that want non-notification factoring will find few freight factors that advertise it.

It is a weaker fit for carriers who want an easy exit or who are sensitive to fee changes mid-contract. Former TAFS customers whose agreements moved to eCapital should check their current terms against the points above.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Fast funding, with payouts in as little as an hour and 24/7 transfers
  • Advances advertised at up to 100% of the invoice
  • Recourse and non-recourse options, and non-notification factoring for fleets
  • Factoring-and-fuel bundle with rate discounts and $5,000 of fuel credit
  • Unlimited free credit checks, and no approved-broker list or time-in-business requirement, as our editors recorded it

Cons

  • 30 BBB complaints in the last three years, more than most rated peers
  • 12-month standard term and a 60-day notice period, as our editors recorded it
  • Set-up fee and an extra charge for instant transfers, as our editors recorded them
  • Soft credit pull on application
  • Complaints about reserve delays and fee changes

How it compares

Against OTR Solutions, which scored just below it, eCapital offers similar instant funding and a fuel bundle with a rate discount, a slightly shorter notice period, and no approved-broker list. OTR offers broader non-recourse cover. Triumph also pays within minutes and holds a cleaner BBB complaint record, but our editors recorded a blanket lien there. If an easy exit matters more than speed, Riviera Finance and Thunder Funding offer much shorter standard terms.
